Welcome to Queens Avenue United Church
Important Message to the congregation of Queens Avenue United Church
From: Jessica Van Kuyk Chair of the Church Council
March 13, 2020
We at Queens are doing our part in trying to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We will gather to worship this coming Sunday at 10:30 am under the leadership of Craig Perry. However, the church will be closed for worship on Sundays March 22 and March 29. We will then look at the situation regarding our services for Easter and Holy Week.
For this coming Sunday, please use the hand sanitizer when you enter; please spread yourselves out throughout the sanctuary to avoid coughs and sneezes. We will not be walking around to share the Peace. If you feel at all ill, please stay home. You are welcome to come back to the gym for tea and coffee after the service. Keep a healthy space between persons there as well. There will be no food served this week. The Trustees will meet in the lounge right after the service.
Rev. Brian Thorpe, Rachel Alflatt and Ron De Gaust will be preparing a short video for all of us to keep in contact with one another for Sundays March 22 and March 29. More information and the link will be shared with you next week. Rev. Thorpe would like it known that if you need to reach out to someone and would like to talk to him, feel free to call him at 604-341-1205.
Please continue your prayers for the World, for the doctors, scientists, governments, your families, our church and its leaders. Pray for our ministers and their leadership at this time: Craig Perry and Rev. Brian Thorpe.
Mission Statement: To be faithful to the call of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit by creating a caring community
No matter how great or little you feel your faith is, no matter if it is your first time coming to church, or you have been raised here, no matter what it is that you think keeps you from being welcomed, you are welcome here. It doesn’t matter what your skin colour, your culture, your race, your economic status, ability or differing ability, your sexual orientation or your gender identity, Queens Avenue United Church welcomes the diversity of all who come to find God and recognizes that it is God who welcomes us all to be part of God’s family.
Please join us for WORSHIP every Sunday morning @ 10:30AM
